Publication Ethics
Ethics guidelines of the Editorial Board of Ukrainian Gestalt Journal"
General provisions
Ethics guidelines of the editorial board are based on the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics and the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA).
The editorial board does not accept materials that contain discriminatory statements, hate speech, offensive content, or violate the current legislation of Ukraine or international legal standards.
Authors bear full responsibility for the content, accuracy of data, correctness of citations, and the absence of plagiarism. The views expressed in the articles may not coincide with the position of the editorial board.
The editorial board reserves the right to review and update its ethical principles.
Ethical Responsibilities of the Editorial Board
The editorial board is responsible for maintaining the scientific quality and transparency of publications, ensures an unbiased double-blind peer review process, and reserves the right to reject manuscripts or return them for revision.
The editorial board guarantees the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, the prevention of conflicts of interest, and fair and timely peer review. Manuscripts may be rejected without review if they do not comply with the journal’s policies.
In cases of identified violations of ethical standards or third-party rights, an article may be retracted with an appropriate public notice.
The distribution of journal materials is permitted only with mandatory reference to the source.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are required to submit original works prepared in accordance with ethical and legal standards and to avoid plagiarism, falsification, or duplicate publication.
Research results must be presented accurately and transparently to ensure their verifiability. Disclosure of conflicts of interest and sources of funding is mandatory.
All citations and sources used must be properly referenced. Only academically grounded criticism is acceptable, without resorting to personal judgments.
Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively and confidentially, avoid conflicts of interest, and must not share materials with third parties.
Reviews should be well-reasoned and aimed at improving the quality of the work. Reviewers are obliged to report any suspected plagiarism or duplicate publication.
Ethical Approval of Research
All research involving humans, animals, or confidential data must comply with applicable legislation and receive ethical approval from the relevant ethics committee.
Authors must obtain informed consent from participants (where applicable) and provide confirmation of ethical approval at the time of manuscript submission.
DORA Policy
The journal adheres to the principles of DORA and evaluates scholarly works based on their content, originality, and contribution to the field, rather than on the prestige indicators of the publication.
The editorial board supports the responsible use of bibliometric indicators and does not encourage artificial inflation of citation metrics.
Artificial Intelligence Use Policy
Authors may use AI only for language editing, translation, or technical assistance in manuscript preparation. AI cannot be listed as a co-author and does not bear any responsibility for the content of the publication. Responsibility for the accuracy of data, interpretation, and conclusions rests entirely with the authors.
The use of AI for generating or falsifying data, sources, or research results constitutes a violation of ethical standards. Where AI has been used in a substantive manner, authors are required to disclose this in the manuscript.
Reviewers are prohibited from uploading manuscripts to AI systems without editorial permission, in order to preserve confidentiality.
The editorial board may use AI solely for technical text processing (language checking, detection of duplication), while all editorial decisions are made exclusively by humans.
Failure to disclose significant use of AI may be considered a breach of publication ethics.
